2025 Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

  • March 26-29, 2025
  • Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center, Federal Way, Washington
  • Short Course Yards (25 yards)
  • Pre-Selection Psych Sheets

Cal’s Lucas Henveaux has selected the 400 IM over the 200 freestyle on day 3 of the 2025 NCAA Championships. Henveaux swam the individual 200 free at ACCs rather than the 400 IM but is making the switch for NCAAs.

At ACCs, Henveaux finished 3rd in the 200 free posting a personal best time of a 1:32.04, a time that would have made him the #23 seed for NCAAs. He instead is the #29 seed in the 400 IM as he time trialed the 400 IM on Thursday at ACCs posting a 3:42.05. That swim also was a personal best as he dropped 0.62 seconds.

His time trial at ACCs was the first time he swam the event this season after only swimming freestyle during the dual meet season this spring. The switch to freestyle appeared to be a trial after he shaved 2.26 seconds off his long course 200 free time compared to his first season with Cal in 2022-2023.

The graduate student keeps his lineup from 2023 NCAAs where he finished 9th in the 500 (4:10.50) and 1650 freestyles (14:44.14) as well as 21st in the 400 IM (3:42.73).

Henveaux’s NCAA lineup:

  • 500 free: #5 seed, 4:08.83
  • 400 IM: #29 seed, 3:42.05
  • 1650 free: #2 seed, 14:29.74

Henveaux is one of 19 men projected to make the cutline for Cal, meaning they will have to drop one swimmer from the roster.
