BREAKING: Fire Alarm Delays Final Night Of 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Championships

2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

A firm alarm has delayed the final night of competition at the 2025 NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships. Information will be updated as it comes in. Lifeguards have confirmed the fire alarm was pulled.

Divers were about to start round 4 of the platform event when the alarm went off.

All in attendance have been instructed to move outside. Bathrooms were evacuated as people yelled for everyone to leave.

Athletes are in their kneeskins outside. It is currently 48 degrees and there is a slight breeze. Lifeguards are walking around offering towels to any swimmers who need them.

The fire department has arrived as of 8:12 pm. All spectators and athletes are outside. Some swimmers walked outside without shoes on, including NCAA Champion Anna Peplowski who is expected to be on Indiana’s 400 free relay to close the meet.

 

8:19 PM UPDATE:

As of 8:19 pm, the all clear has been given. All spectators, coaches, and athletes are making their way back inside.

8:25 PM UPDATE:

Platform diving is scheduled to begin again at 8:35 PM 

8:30 PM UPDATE:

The 400 free relay will NOT start before 8:55 pm, even if diving finishes before that point.
