The Virginia women won their 5th-consecutive team title at the 2025 NCAA Championships. Those are their only five titles and moves them into a tie with Auburn (2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007) as the 4th-most titles in NCAA Women’s Division I Swimming & Diving history.
It also matches the Texas women (1984-1988) and Stanford women (1992-1996) as the only teams to have won five consecutive titles.

Virginia also added 10 more NCAA event titles to their total, bringing them to 51 all-time titles. That jumps them past USC and Arizona to 6th in the all-time rankings. After the 2019 championship, the last before the Virginia dynasty took hold, the Cavaliers had just 6 all-time championships and were 18th in these rankings.
The gaps get bigger now toward the programs that have been competing at this level for a much longer time. They would likely need their dominance to continue for at least three more years in order to catch Cal and move into the top 5.
The Texas women, with 4 more event titles, broke a tie with Cal for 4th-most all-time and moved into another with Georgia for 3rd-most all-time. They are now 12 behind the Florida Gators for 2nd most all-time.
The Stanford women picked up 4 more event titles of their own (Torri Huske won the 200 IM, Lucy Bell won the 200 breast, Caroline Bricker won the 400 IM, and the team won the 800 free) to extend their lead over everyone else in the field. Even for a dynasty-like team, it would probably take almost a decade of dominance to catch the Cardinal.
Meanwhile, University of Miami diver Chiara Pellacani won the women’s 1-meter title as part of the Hurricanes’ 13th place finish – their best finish since placing 13th at the 1992 championships. All 6 NCAA titles in program history have been won by divers.
Indiana won the other 2 titles at the 2025 meet, bringing them to 18 all-time. They remain unmoved from 11th place in the all-time rankings.
