Dual sport Division II All-American Bryn Greenwaldt is transferring to Virginia as a graduate transfer to pursue a Masters of Accounting. Greenwaldt competed for three years with Division II Augustana University.

Greenwaldt made history last month competing at the Division II NCAA Championships for both swimming and track and field. She became an All-American in both sports on the same day after finishing 8th in the high jump and less than an hour later finishing 8th in the 100 freestyle.
In addition, Greenwaldt is also a Division II record holder as she swam a 21.92 in prelims, becoming the first Division II swimmer to break the 22-second mark. She went on to win the NCAA title in finals with a 22.09.
Greenwaldt told SwimSwam that she will be swimming for the Cavaliers but plans to compete in track and field “in some capacity throughout the next 2 years.” The track and field transfer portal is not open currently which means she cannot directly discuss with the track and field coaches currently.

The Virginia women are coming off of their 5th consecutive NCAA title. The team was led by senior Gretchen Walsh as she won the 50 free, 100 fly, and 100 free, setting new NCAA records in the 100 fly and 100 free while she tied her record in the 50 free.
Greenwaldt helps fill a gap in the sprint group as Gretchen Walsh and Maxine Parker were both on the team’s NCAA winning 200 free relay. Parker just finished her fifth year and split a 21.56 on the 3rd leg of the relay. The team won that relay in a 1:24.45 touching over half a second ahead of Louisville (1:25.04).
Greenwaldt’s 50 free time would have been 5th on the roster this past season while her 100 back and 100 free times would have been 7th.
